Pramila Yadav has received a toilet system

Pramila Yadav and her family in Nepal have access to adequate sanitation facilities for the first time. Pramila is a subsistence farmer working in harsh conditions in rural Nepal.

Ethnically, Pramila is of the Dalits “caste,” often called “untouchables.” She and her community often face stark social and economic discrimination and are typically overlooked by other development organizations. The Living Earth Institute has been working together with a local NGO, Development Alternative Organization (Bikas Bikalpa Sanstha), to define their needs and provide the organization and resources for the village to meet them.
