Dear David, Rick and Beth, Pradeep, Peter and Kim, Molly, George, Jeffrey, Jeffrey, Jerame, and Katherine,

Balkrishana Bhakta Kharel belongs to the ‘Dalit’ caste, often called “untouchables” in the village of Rampurwa  in rural Nepal.  She, like all members of her community, faces stark social and economic discrimination and are typically overlooked by most development organizations.

Balkrishana is widowed and lives alone.

Living Earth Institute (LEI), partners with a local NGO, the Bikas Bikalpa Sanstha (BBS), in the Rampurwa village of Nepal to define community needs and provide the organizational support, training, and resources for the village to meet them.

Your donations, David, Rick and Beth, Pradeep, Peter and Kim, Molly, George, Jeffrey C, Jeffrey R, Jerame, and Katherine, have made it possible for BBS to install a latrine for Balkrishana. This will ensure that she now has adequate sanitation for the first time, and she is experiencing better health.

Thank you, David, Rick and Beth, Pradeep, Peter and Kim, Molly, George, Jeffrey C, Jeffrey R, Jerame, and Katherine,, for your generosity. The impact of your donation on Balkrishana’s quality of life is huge.
