Sita Thami and her children now enjoy good health

Dear Shannon, KOWSILLIYA, and Rajeev, Jill, Sarina, & Corin,

Sita Thami and her family belong to the ‘Dalit’ caste, often called “untouchables”.  They, like all members of their community, face stark social and economic discrimination and are typically overlooked by most development organizations.

Sita Thami is married but lives alone as her husband has left the village in search of better employment opportunities.

The Living Earth Institute (LEI), partners with a local NGO, the Bikas Bikalpa Sanstha (BBS), in the Rampurwa village of Nepal to define community needs and provide the organizational support, training, and resources for the village to meet them.

Your donations, Shannon (x5), Kowsilliya, and Rajeev, Jill, Sarina, & Corin (x4), have made it possible for BBS to install a latrine for the Pushcar Thami family. This will ensure that the Sita Thami family now has adequate sanitation for the first time, and all members of the family experience better health. Sita’s three children are better able to pursue their studies and enjoy better health.

Thank you, Shannon, Kowsilliya, and Rajeev, Jill, Sarina, & Corin, for your generosity. The impact of your donation on this family in Rampurwa, Nepal is huge.
