Pushcar Bahadur Thami and his family belong to the ‘Dalit’ caste, often called “untouchables”. They, like all members of their community, face stark social and economic discrimination and are typically overlooked by most development organizations.
The Living Earth Institute (LEI), partners with a local NGO, the Bikas Bikalpa Sanstha (BBS), in the Rampurwa village of Nepal to define community needs and provide the organizational support, training, and resources for the village to meet them.
Your donations, Kelly, Shreeya, Katelyn, Alice and Brad (x2), Bill and Colleen (x2), Dennis (x2) and Gillian, have made it possible for BBS to install a latrine for the Pushcar Thami family. This will ensure that the Pushcar Thami family now has adequate sanitation for the first time, and all members of the family experience better health. Pushcar’s daugther Premla is better able to pursue her studies.
Thank you, Kelly, Shreeya, Katelyn, Alice and Brad, Bill and Colleen, Dennis and Gillian for your generosity. The impact of your donation on this family in Rampurwa, Nepal is huge.
