Toilets – one village at a time

Dear Danny, Mathieu, Tom, Gillian, Jerame, Ray and Lael, Peter, and Lee,

Imagine life without adequate sanitation. This is the reality for billions of people in the world and has been identified by the British Medical Journal as the global crisis that undermines all development efforts–and particularly efforts to reduce the number of children who die before their fifth birthday. The Living Earth Institute (LEI) is taking small steps that have huge impacts one family and one village at a time. Dhyani Chaudary and her son have lived their entire life without access to adequate sanitation facilities – until now!

Your donations have provided a family toilet for Dhyani and her family. The Living Earth Institute along with a local NGO, Development Alternative Organization (Bikas Bikalpa Sanstha- BBS), work to improve sanitation facilities and health awareness in Bhim’s rural Rampurwa Village in Nepal.

This project works with the local community to define the most crucial needs and provide resources for the village to meet them. This project also provides Dhyani and other village women training on small scale income generation opportunities.

Thank you so much for giving Dhyani and her family the gift of adequate sanitation. She extends her heartfelt appreciation and is very thankful for your support!
