Prabha Ram enjoys a healthier lifestyle
Prabha Ram lives in Rampurwa Village in rural Nepal. She is a farmer in her village and is married, but lives alone with her children as her husband has left the village in search of better employment than what he can find in their village. Ethnically, Prabha and her family are of a cast that often faces discrimination, and they live in an area seldom reached by other development programs. Development Alternative Organization (Bikas Bikalpa Sanstha) is working to drastically improve sanitation facilities and health awareness in the rural Rampurwa Village. The project works with the local community to define their needs and provides the organization and resources for the village to meet them.
