Sonai and her family have a new toilet!

The Living Earth Institute works with a local NGO in Nepal called Development Alternative Organization (Bikas Bikalpa Sanstha), to drastically improve sanitation facilities and health awareness in the rural Rampurwa Village in Nepal.

Ethnically, the beneficiaries of this village are comprised of Tharu, an indigenous Terai community, and the Dalits, often called “untouchables”, who face stark social and economic discrimination.

Beth, David, Kandace, Todd & Heija, Lee, Rupali and Brian & Robin, together your donations provided a toilet system for Sonai Chaudhary Batauliya and her family. The positive impact to their health and livelihood is beyond what can be easily explained or understood. Today the Batauliya family can experience a healthier life because of to you.
